Kick Ass Fantasy Football Auction Tips
Fantasy Football Auction Tips – Use Tiered Rankings
If you are going to be involved with a fantasy football auction (or if you are just curious) here are my best hard won tips for getting your best deals during your fantasy football auction. An auction draft requires the same prep and planning that your normal fantasy football draft day requires. Except for one thing. Now there is a dollar value tied to your top fantasy football picks.
I recommend you create 3 tiers for your rankings sheet to help you know what players are valued more than the rest. You can call the tiers A, B, C or SuperStuds, Reliable Ricks, BarginBasements, whatever suits you.
You will also need to know how your league awards points and scoring rules so you can see how top players compare to other point-wise. If this is a new league for you ask the commissioner for last years rankings (with last years auction values if possible.)
The concept of How To Tier Players is covered beautifully by Fantasy Football guru David Dorey. If this is unfamiliar territory go read his article and then come back here to find out how you can get my Kick-ASS Blackbelt Fantasy Football auction strategies. [But only if you want to Kick-Ass, otherwise, never mind.]
Fantasy Football Auction Tips – Use Manipulative Psychology
Ok so if you read David’s article now you understand how to tier players. Its important for you fantasy football auction so you don’t make a noobie mistake and blow your wad on a single player or position. When you notice that your favorite RB is going for top dollar, but there are still a few more RBs in the same tier, then let the other players pay the premium. That’s what I call silent “Manipulative Psychology.”
Now for a bit more obvious Manipulative Psychology tactic do this next tip. Nominate players that you don’t want who will go for a premium price. In fact, if you are in a live draft consider creating a ‘fake’ fantasy football cheatsheet full of players that you don’t want. I love this tactic.
My league uses a live auction draft and I always take my fake cheatsheet with me. In fact, I may ‘accidentally’ make it easy for someone to look over my shoulder to see it. Or leave it in the john. This is beautiful. This is how to be a GIANT in your fantasy football auction wins. Nominate early the studs you think are going to be a bust and let the others pay the premium for them.
Here’s another Manipulative Psychology tactic for your Fantasy Football Auction day. Toss out a nomination for a hyped up rookie WR or QB. Your competition, especially the new kids, are going to be real loose with their money early in the auction. Nominate a rookie and let them spend their bucks on the new kid.
One word of caution, don’t nominate any rookie RBs. You should keep them in your back pocket and try not to pay top dollar for a rookie RB. Help your competition blow their bucks so they don’t have much left to spend and you get your rookie RB for a reasonable price.
I’ve got 32 more gut busting Manipulative Strategy tactics for you to leverage in your own Fantasy Football Auction. But I’m not just giving them away to everyone. Honestly, that would be like committing fantasy football suicide.
Just think of it, you standing there arms upraised in conquest over the rest of your league at the end of Fantasy Football Auction day. You used my tactics to get the most for your auction bucks.
In fact your competition won’t even know what hit them. When you use the proper delivery mechanisms described in this downloadable course you will get exactly what you want out of your auction. In fact, you can use these tactics to win out in your everyday work and life.
